Day 4 -🌲Inland Originals & Rustic Roads

The Maine Wine Trail is a six-day tasting adventure through 25 wineries, cideries, and meaderies — from Portland to Bar Harbor, and all the delicious stops in between.

Kick off your trail in Maine’s cultural capital. This day blends city sophistication with rural beginnings — from elegant pours in Portland’s Old Port to rolling vineyards just beyond. You’ll sample rosés, botanical wines, and innovative blends with a side of local flavor and urban energy.

Travel through central Maine’s orchard belt, where the tasting rooms sit among hilltop views and apple groves. This flavorful loop features sparkling ciders, fruit wines, wildflower meads, and crisp, refreshing whites—all anchored in Maine’s rich farming heritage.

This day hugs the Midcoast — a region bursting with artistic fermenters and ocean-kissed wines. You’ll sip small-batch mead, rustic cider, and refined reds in scenic settings from forest clearings to vineyard hills overlooking the bay.

As you head Downeast, the wines come with salt air and sweeping views. Sample coastal vintages from Maine’s oldest winery, explore organic orchard wines, and end the day with a Bar Harbor sunset and a glass in hand.

This track takes you through the quiet beauty of Maine’s northern reaches. These rural tasting rooms serve up heartfelt wines, hand-tended vineyards, and an atmosphere that’s equal parts peaceful and personal — a perfect final toast to your trail journey.
